Baby Milestones : Your Child's Development


Hi.. i am sure few question must have bothered your mind regarding the development of your newly

born angels or prince esp the mothers to be or newly blessed parents… that whether my child is

following the right growth growth pattern or is getting delayed? Is my child growing small for

age ?....or the comparison with neighbor's child must be storming your brain. So till your next visit

date to your pediatrician or for your not so satisfactory answers, you may go through this below…



TEETHING –

  • First comes lower central incisors- 6-7 months
  • Upper central incisors - 9 months
  • Lateral incisors - 12 months
  • First molar teeth - 13 months
  • Canines - 20 months
  • Second molars - 22 months


PHYSICAL GROWTH-

Newborn- lies in the curled position, arms and legs tucked in, head need support.
  • 1 month- looks around
  • 2 months- when on abdomen able to raise his head and hold for sometime
  • 3 months- moves himself up on his arms, can turn his head
  • 4 months- rolls from side to side on his back
  • 6-8 months- can sit without support
  • 9 months- starts crawling
  • 10 months- can stand by holding furniture
  • 12 months- can walk few steps by holding side of furniture, but unsteady


Important thing to remember is – theses all milestones are not fixed and may vary from kid to kid.
